Mahindra Satyam Interview Pattern - Dehradun, 02-11-2011
Hi friends,
This is nitin sharing my interview experience of mahindra satyam (energy
vertical ) that came for campus recruit to university of petroleum and
energy studies (dehradun) for b-techs.
First of all there was a ppt about the company's work in the oil and gas
sector..
Package offered -3.07 ctc
Take home - 22 thousand
2yr bond .. bond amt.-1 lakh
Low package and bond was the real tension that it gave to most of us guys
and some of us decided not to sit.
Still there 200+ students who decided to go for it including me.
Now ---->
Four rounds in total ..
1. Aptitude
2. Technical written paper
3. Technical interview
4. H-R interview
All four rounds in one day .. HECTIC
I'll list out some parameters i remember for each round
1-aptitude--> online aptitude test was conducted
Total 170 Ques to be answered in 80 min.
So time was the crucial factor.there were 10 sections ->
1- quant. reasoning 1- 35 Q
2- quant reasoning 2 - 20 Q
3- quant reasoning 3- 15 Q
7 sections of english that totals up to 100 Q
so in all 170 Q to be answered in 80 min.
Topics asked in the quant reasoning
were-partnership,clock,SI,CI,ages,mixture,
coding decoding,number series, analogies, direction , blood relation,simple
puzzles,picture series etc.
In the English section they asked prepositions ,tenses,synonyms,
antonyms,f/bs,reading comprehension, articles ,paragraphs,sentence verb
agreement,sentence completion etc.
My advice-> start with the english section first.its easy but confusing and
will take not more than 30 minutes.
Quant section is also easy but time taking so if some one's speed is slow
like me than its better to go for english first as it is of more weightage.
Dont spend too much time on 1 question and try solving puzzles and Ques on
picture series at the last.
48 students were selected out of 200+ students
cut off was 106 out of 170.
then second round -> technical objective paper .. 50 ques (it would be
related to your course)
33 students passed through the technical round
now comes the interview->took place at 1:30 "AM" and i was like swinging
1- technical interview- ques asked from me were from my internship
project..so do read your project report at least once. some hr questions
were also asked like ur extra curricular activities , where do u want to see
yourself three yrs hence.hobbies, intrest , any ques u want to ask..
2- Hr interview .. -> i enterd the room the
interviewer-"so nitin this is a cup and plate i give u 60 seconds talk on
them".
what came to my mind i told him .. to my other friends he asked to speak on
stapler ,fan etc.
"give me three uses of cup other than drinking. "
the catch here is never answer with a negative reply like "it could be use
to hit some one".
"why your percentage in college lower than ur 10th and 12th "
"why should i hire you"
results were announced same day or the nxt day as it was 2:0 am ..
17 were selected included me.
