IBM Interview Experience - KOLKATA, FEB 21, 2016

IBM Interview Experience - KOLKATA, FEB 21, 2016

IBM - Interview experience.

Hi, I am Debarun Dey. I am 2016 pass out from JIS College of Engineering,
Kalyani in ECE. Studying B-Tech came by chance as I wanted to be a doctor (I
experienced some personal set backs). I struggled 2years. I had serious
health complications. I also used crutch at a time. At a point no one took
me as a serious student. Even my family had lost faith in me at that time.
But I was determined to prove them wrong. I tried hard. I sat for CAT in
2016 without any preparation and it was another disaster. My confidence
level was almost zero. TCS came for for placement. I managed to crack the
apti level. It came as a surprise to others.

But unfortunately I was eliminated in the PI round and that pushed my
confidence down further. Every thing was Ok in that interview. But it was
very surprise to me. Then other companies came and left. I managed to clear
most of the aptitude tests but final conversion was becoming difficult to
me. Then I started for preparing CAT, 13 seriously. This action proved very
fertile. I started to regain my lost confidence. But constant family
pressure was there. The CAT result was medium. I managed to get call from
some tier 2 Bschools. Then at that time I got mails from several companies.
I cleared the CTS aptitude test conducted by AMCAT. But didn't sit for the
interview.

One day COCUBES sent me a mail containing info about IBM drive. I heard that
IBM drive is one of the toughest (they have several stages) yet finest. So I
went for the Cocubes test in Techno-India. Cleared the apti screening. Then
IBM conducted their own infamous series and logic test. 20 series and 20
apti questions were there. After the test they told that I haven't cleared.
But after few weeks they informed me again that "you are selected for
further round of test". I thanked God. The 2nd test or English test was
conducted at Narula, our sister college. The environment was familiar. The
test was to test the managerial skills like documentation, punctuation, some
decision making etc. It was very easy to me because earlier I had practiced
a lot before my XAT exam. And at the end of the day I was selected.

Then I got the mail for interview after few weeks. My best friend
Shambo(FIEM) earlier attended the interview but couldn't cleared to cleared
the interview. He helped me a lot from his experience. The interview was
scheduled on FEB 21 in Techno.

At the beginning an Hr Mam told that not to be worried and to relax (I never
seen like this fantastic kind of HRs). After submitting the copies an IBM
guy called my name. I was first in my panel.

I entered the room. The HR offered me cold drink and coffee. But I turned
down with humble approach. He saw my CV and said "Man why you came here. You
are made for MBA (I have a lot of extra curricular like working with N.G.Os,
publishing socioeconomic article, case studies etc etc). ". But I said no
sir as of now I like to use my skills that I have earned after 16 years of
students life. Then he said "do you have any dependent family members?". I
said no. Then he said why ECE, why software etc. Then he gave to solve 5
puzzles. I solved all. Then he asked simple questions on projects some basic
level sorting-searching questions. At the end he asked who is your favorite
footballer (I mentioned that I am a die hard soccer fan). I said my all time
favorites includes Paolo Maldini, Zidane and Figo. He said tell me only one
name. I said "Maldini".

Then he said why a defender instead of the forwards and goalscorers. I said
"Sir football is a team work. Every member is vital, every member has to do
his own duty. Apart from being a great defender. He was a true class leader
in his teams A. C Milan and Italy. You know after his departure Ac Milan is
declining. But Italy was OK in Canavaro and Buffon's hand. Maldini's
leadership is felt in every Milan game. "After my answer I found the HR
staring at me in a surprising smile. And at the last he shook my handwith
the line" welcome to IBM man". I quietly left the room.

Few Tips for aspirants.

1. IBM hrs are the best interviewers. They are very friendly. So don't be
scared. Don't lie. Be humble.

2. If you are not so good in technical not be scared. They test your
managerial approach, how you convince others. If they gave a problem (like
programs in C) and you don't know that fully then try to write the algo or
in steps.

3. Don't overexpose yourself. Give them respect (they earned their respect
that's why they are in the chair). Some So called "DADAS" of colleges suffer
for it.

4. Be suave and amiable. If you find your HR is busy with mobile or laptop
don't you ever think he is not watching you.

5. Don't lost hope if you fail. Try to keep you attitude and confidence in
high (but don't show them keep it with you).

6. Try to practice maths and apti's from 2nd year on wards. If you cannot
qualify in the preliminary rounds then certainly your vast subject knowledge
will not help.

iGATE Global Solutions Interview Experience - iGATE Airoli, Thane, Feb 2, 2016.

iGATE Global Solutions Interview Experience - iGATE Airoli, Thane, Feb 2,
2016.

Hi,

I am Pankaj, attended iGATE interview on Feb 2, 2016 through referral drive.
On my experiences I want to gives some do's and don'ts for job seeker.

Do's:

1. Always plan for placement process.
2. List topics to do in aptitude paper.
3. Understand the view of paper and pattern.
4. Plan for time and approach to various sections.
5. Go with politeness.
6. And finally it's your career, your decision, your chance, use it your
way.

Don'ts:

1. Don't try to cheat company as well yourself.
2. Don't think you can make fool to interview person.
3. Don't be over smart.
4. Even you have any addition qualification, be clam.

In iGATE process, there are 3 rounds.

1. Aptitude Test 2. Technical 3. Personal HR.

1. Aptitude Test.

- The aptitude Test contains 50 questions.

- 30 quants + 20 verbal.

- Mostly students focus on the quant section and unable to complete verbal
section in time or they fail to give importance to verbal section as well to
get too.

For aptitude, I was prepared enough with my own plan for how to crack. Test
is quit more easily but don't forget mostly iGATE gives cutoff of 40 or 42,
so you have to be correct more than 80%.

2. Technical Interview:

After aptitude result, a formality of form filling is completed and we
entered into floor, where actually development process used to do. After
waiting for 20 minutes my turn is ON.

I enter in the cabin. There was one smart senior lady, little- bit busy to
do with her work as well process, I ask for permission to entered twice.
Then she smile and allow. After her work done with previous candidate she
told to sit.

Ask for introduce myself. I did, then she gives glance over resume and
suddenly ask for JavaScript code.

I was shocked because as per my knowledge iGATE never ask to code, but I
did. Then she again ask for projects that I did in my collage. She asked mi
about IBM certification that did.

She asks mi about MySQL, java, c++ concepts. But finally she again try to
test my programing, ask for array code and another one for linked list. I
did. Finally she smile with satisfied face. Again ask mi to introduce
myself. And allow to sit for HR.

Afterward I got detail that she is senior consultant of iGATE which is too
much techno savvy. I was confident enough about technical. Then HR.

3. Personal HR.

Young lady with full enthusiasm, smiled and ask for continue.

My HR is started with question on relocation; she asked mi for relocation,
bond and shift work twice in my HR interview,

Then as usual questions like tell me about yourself. Tell me about your
academic performance. She also asks mi to my final year project. Project on
cloud, so ask mi what is cloud and all.

At the end she ask mi to introduce myself again. She asked- are you from
Nasik? Then tell mi about Nasik. Literally I told her about 10 minutes, at
the last she told that her native is also Nasik, and she started questing on
grape, onion, how the process of farming?, how grapes used to export? And
all. At the end she smiled and said "Good job".

Now my turn to ask her. As I was aware of iGATE I ask 2 question-what things
differentiate IGATOR from other? She explains. And about iGATE client GE.
She smile and said see you soon. And I left iGATE for day.

Be confident with your answer and keep smiling, then you will get placed.

All the best. !

Accenture Interview Experience - Chandigarh, December 7, 2016

Accenture Interview Experience - Chandigarh, December 7, 2016

Hello guys,

I attended Accenture interview today. I was short-listed through e-litmus.
So there was no Aptitude test for us. Only direct interview (Tech+HR).

Technical :

(There were approximately 15 panels. Thanks to e-litmus people, they organize
it very well.

I was Interviewed by a Lady.

Interviewer: Please tell me about yourself?
Me : (Started with great confidence, she stared me and asked me to speak in
a low volume, though guys I wasn't loud at all..  )

Interviewer: What was your project in final year?
Me: Told.

Interviewer: Asked about technology used?
Me: Told(It was in .Net)

Interviewer: Asked every possible bit about my project, very minute things,
Asked me to draw ASP .net Architecture, What was the major challenge you
faced in your project?

Me: I told every thing in an elaborated manner, except for the architecture
because I  forgot it  :( ?

Interviewer: (Looked very dissatisfied and started asking more questions)
What is a transaction? What is a GroupBy clause.. etc. etc...
Me: Answered most of them.

Then she said you can leave now (With an angry face).. and after coming out
I came to know that I was rejected.. :((

Guys I have faced a failure. So I think I can provide you guidelines about
what not to do in your Accenture Interview.

1. Prepare your project well.. (Each and everything about it.. even very
small small things)
2. Don't be overconfident.

All the very best !!!

Aricent Group Interview Experience - Jaipur, September 27, 2016

Aricent Group Interview Experience - Jaipur, September 27, 2016

The aptitude test was conducted online and consisted of 4 parts.

1. English.
2. Mathematical Aptitude.
3. Computers (pseudo codes were given).
4. Logical Reasoning.

The time given for each of the sections was about 25 to 35 min (varying) and
was ample. Although the rest of the sections were easy but the Computer
section in which each of the pseudo code was given and either output/ error
was to be found out was slightly difficult.

After the aptitude was taken, the results of the same were followed by a
Group Discussion in which a group comprised of 8 to 10 people. The topic for
the discussion was chosen by the group itself. Some of the topics chosen by
Banasthali Vidyapith students were :

Impact of Indian Cinema on Youth.
Rupees vs Dollar.
Sex Education.
Rights of Women etc.

Group Discussion was a non elimination round hence no elimination followed.

The next day began the technical round (around 45 min to 50 min for each
student) which was indeed easy but very lengthy.

Basic Concepts (with programming) was asked in C, C++, Java and Data
Structures.

Basics of Networking is also important. But. One must know how to write
program in any of the languages. Some of the Programs asked were :

Reversal of string, Fibonacci, Stack, Queue, Linked List, Factorials. Etc.
Easy but should be revised.

The H.R. Round was merely a formality for many of us barring a few who were
really grilled. It also had obvious questions and the Aricent team was very
friendly.

It began with an Introduction followed by the history of Aricent. They also
asked us why we chose Aricent and if shifting to South was a problem. It
lasted for about 15 to 20 mins on an average.

It was a wonderful experience.

93 students were shortlisted from around 400 students. :).

Amazon India Interview Experience - PUNE, Jan 24, 2016

Amazon India Interview Experience - PUNE, Jan 24, 2016

Below are a list of certain questions that some of my friends and I were
asked during an interview for the SDE position.

It was an amazing experience. Though they tend to focus PRIMARILY on Data
Structures throughout, they also give good weightage to your Problem
Analyzing Skills and OS.

1. Given a dictionary with limited words. Check if the string given to you
is a composite of two words which are already present in the dictionary.

2. Given a single linked list of certain nodes. Switch adjacent nodes. Eg. 1
2 3 4 will be 2 1 4 3.

3. What is the function of the 'finally' block in Java ? Under what
conditions does the finally block not get executed, if this is possible?

4. Display all the nodes at the same level in a tree.

5. Given a binary search tree. Traverse only the left sub-tree.

6. Given a n-ary tree. Devise an algo which determines the position at which
the 3rd B is present from the given index in constant time complexity.

Try it for binary tree.

What is hashing. What is constant time complexity?

Which are the data structures which have constant time complexity. HINT -
they both use indexes?

The preprocessor method will use what data structures to ensure the getA()
or getB() function will determine the 3rd B's position in constant time
complexity.

7. Is {a, n, d} a palindrome ? If you are given a random string, is it a
palindrome or not ?

8. Implementation of AVL tree.

P. S. The tech panels which came down for the interviews are amazingly
helpful and vastly experienced. So you better work you're arse off if you
wanna pass all 3 tech rounds + telephonic interview!

Hi Aspirants,

I am jagadish from RVR&JC, Guntur.

Here is my interview experience.

More than 400 students were attended for written test and 25 students were
short listed and I am one of them :).

ABACUS COMPUTECH PATTERN & INTERVIEW - 21 SEP 2016

ABACUS COMPUTECH PATTERN & INTERVIEW - 21 SEP 2016

Hi Friends

I am Vinaya and I got selected in Abacus Computech. I would like to share my
experience with you all... The interview process had four rounds.
1.) Written test
2.) Group Discussion
3.) Technical Interview
4.) HR interview

WRITTEN TEST:
The written test consisted of 30 questions and the time is 30 min.
10-C questions
10-Aptitude
10-Verbal

The C questions are not that easy but u will surely get through it if you
prepare well.

Aptitude questions are also fine. You need to work during the exam... Just
practice the general aptitude questions in various websites. Its better to
practice the test questions. Just be attentive and concentrate on the
questions, u will surely get through it.

Verbal is a walk on a cake. it is very easy.. don't waste your time on
Verbal.
Sometimes they don't consider verbal because it is that easy. Only
concentrate on C and Aptitude. Let me tell, the best thing is.. NO SECTIONAL
CUTOFF. Out of 30 you need to score 12 or 13 (sometimes it is 10), that is
more than enough to get through.

GD in Abacus is very easy. It is not a GD actually. They give a particular
topic and ask you to talk for 2 minutes. Each and every person will get
their chance. They don't bother what you talk but they see how you talk. My
topic was YOUR MEMORABLE MOMENTS IN COLLEGE and sometimes the current
topics. I talked only for 1 min, but I was very loud, clear, with a smile on
my face and I talked looking at all instead of staring at the HR.

Technical is a bit tough for CSE and IT. But for all other branches it is
fine. They ask about the basics in your subject. Being an IT student I had
an interview for 15-20 minutes, but for other branches it went for 3-5
minutes. So if you arr from CSE or IT be perfect with C, C++ JAVA. Of course
it depends on your resume, don't make it complicated with languages like
J2EE or so.

HR is also easy. It will last for some 2-3 minute and at the most 5 minutes.
Just be what you are.. Don't be artificial.. Express your own views.. they
give certain situations and see how you handle the situation.

So finally I got through all these rounds and on September 21st evening at
4:30 I got my result. You know friends this is my 5th company and I couldn't
get through the written also in all the 5 companies I previously attended.
So don't worry friends. If u are not selected in a company then a better
company is waiting for you..

Tech Mahindra Interview Experience - Hyderabad, January 17, 2016

Tech Mahindra Interview Experience - Hyderabad, January 17, 2016

Hi friends, I attended Tech Mahindra on 17th january 2016. Morning 8 o clock
all the student assembled in the placement cell of college. 9o'clock
pre-placement talk started in which they told us everything about the
organization and about the written test procedure. 10o'clock the test
started there were 11 sections 180 questions. Verbal place a major role in
clearing the examination and time management should be perfect because you
will be given 150 minutes to complete the test. The test will be very easy
just have to concentrate on verbal and reasoning part more because aptitude
questions are only 15.

I cleared the test and keep in mind that first round its the major
elimination round.

They asked all the selected written test students to go to another room
there we filled the application form and they gave us a topic to write
essay.

Technical round was almost like technical cum hr round the interviewer was
very cool he made me very comfortable he asked me questions on my project
and rest all the questions were normal communication.

After half an hour they announced the result and I cleared the technical
round too.

Later they called me for hr round the interviewer was vice president of tech
mahindra he asked me questions like "What is the difference between hard
work and smart work?".

"What are your strength and weakness?".
