Tata Consultancy Services - Narula Institute of Technology, Kolkata, 13th
November 2016
Hello all,
Here me to share my interview experience in TCS. Tcs came to our JIS group
on 13th November.
1st round was verbal: That is an email writing,
And 2nd: Quantitative.
Questions were hard, prepare well from Arun Sharma.
The cut-off marks depends upon your college level,
For example for JADAVPUR university it was 12, but for our college it was 21
I guess.
Email writing also plays an important role, as it will be checked by NATURAL
LANGUAGE PROCESSING.
Few tips:
1) Don't make any spelling mistake.
2) Try to use all the phrases given.
3) Start and end with formalities.
4) Sign in as the name provided (means use the name as given in
instructions, don't use your own).
As Much I can recall,
My quantitative questions was mostly from this chapters:
- Probability.
- Permutation & combination.
- Sudoku puzzle.
- Set theory.
- Time & work.
- Height & distance.
- Polygon.
- Rectangle, sphere.
- Time & distance.
Only 43 candidates cleared this two round among our 500+ students.
Now Technical & PI was scheduled on 16th and it was on TCS ECOSPACE
building, Rajarhat.
500 shortlisted candidates from at around 8 colleges called for interview on
that day.
Our reporting time was on 12 PM, but after a long waiting my interview got
started in 5:15 PM. : (.
TECHNICAL:
There was 2 persons on the panel and both were very friendly.
Asked me questions from C, JAVA, projects.
Told me write codes which of few I never heard in my life.
(they basically checks your concept, so make your concept strong.
Don't go for few selected program like palindrome, prime, fibonacci etc. ).
Then few questions from data structures, dbms.
It lasts for 35 minutes.
THEN I got call for THE PI.
Me: May I get in sir.
Sir: Yeah, have a sit.
Me: Thanks sir and wished him good evening.
Sir: Same to you, avik.
Sir: So avik, why you want to join TCS?
Me: Told.
Sir: Do you like puzzles? then solve it for me. Gave me a puzzle.
Me: Tried but realised it was a wrong question. I told straight that it is
wrong.
Sir: Smiled and took my resume.
Sir: Wow, you worked on an android app! describe its functionality.
Me: Told.
Sir: What are your strengths?
Me: Told.
Then a mam came and started to ask.
Mam: Do you have any 1 special in life?
Me: Smiled and said yes.
Mam: Brief her in 2 minutes.
Me: I talked about her at around 10 minutes. Mam & sir both was smiling.
Mam: You wanna marry her or someone else?
Me: Ofcourse I want her with me.
Mam: Ok avik. So, do you know TCS terms and conditions?
TCS bond?
Me: Yes, and told what I know.
Sir: Ok man. Do you have any questions for us?
Me: Yeah, then asked about tcs's few recent projects.
Sir: Told and explained.
Then I handshaked with both of them and wished good night.
Result came the next day, and with the blessing of god and my parents and
love of my sweetheart I GOT SELECTED.
Hope it will help you, try to focus in subjects written on your RESUME and
make concepts clear.
Wish all the very best to all of you.
